Objective ADHD Testing with Creyos

Getting Clarity, Not Just a Checklist

ADHD can be one of the hardest conditions to diagnose with confidence. Symptoms overlap with anxiety, depression, and other conditions, and traditional evaluations often rely heavily on self-reported questionnaires and clinical impressions alone. That’s why our practice incorporates tools like Creyos, a scientifically validated cognitive assessment platform, to bring objective, measurable data into the ADHD diagnostic process.

What Is Creyos?

Creyos is not a symptom checklist. It’s a computerized cognitive testing platform, backed by decades of research and hundreds of peer-reviewed studies, that measures how your brain actually performs on tasks tied to attention, working memory, impulse control, and reasoning. During your evaluation, you’ll complete a short series of engaging, game-like tasks designed to capture how your mind handles focus, distraction, and sustained mental effort — the same cognitive domains most affected by ADHD.

How It Helps with Your ADHD Evaluation

Objective data alongside your story. Creyos measures cognitive markers associated with ADHD and combines those results with validated clinical questionnaires. This gives your psychiatrist both the quantitative performance data and your personal history and symptoms to work from, rather than relying on one alone.

Helps distinguish ADHD from look-alike conditions. Anxiety, depression, sleep issues, and other conditions can mimic ADHD symptoms. Objective cognitive performance data helps your provider tell these conditions apart and avoid a mistaken diagnosis in either direction.

Fast, convenient, and thorough. A full assessment typically takes well under an hour, sparing you the long waitlists and cost often associated with a traditional neuropsychological evaluation, while still delivering meaningful clinical depth.

A tool for tracking progress, not just diagnosis. Because the tasks are repeatable, we can use Creyos again after starting treatment to see whether medication or therapy is measurably improving attention, focus, and impulse control over time — giving you real evidence of what’s working.

One part of the full picture. Cognitive testing is a valuable data point, but it doesn’t stand alone. Your psychiatrist will always interpret your Creyos results alongside a full clinical interview, your history, and your lived experience to reach a diagnosis and treatment plan that truly fits you.

What to Expect

If cognitive testing is appropriate for your evaluation, you’ll be asked to complete a set of short tasks on a computer or tablet, either in our office or remotely, followed by a discussion of your results with your provider. There’s no right or wrong way to perform — the goal is simply to understand how your brain works so we can help you more effectively.
